Halomlab International Interlaboratory Proficiency Test Results (2020)

In 2020, we took part in the interlaboratory proficiency testing schemes of the French company BIPEA. It is one of the world's largest organisations carrying out such certification, bringing together more than 2,500 laboratories from 120 countries.

We explained what a "round robin" is and why it matters in a separate article.

In each round we received a sample in which the amino acid content was unknown to us. Our task was to determine the values of all the amino acids.

Each amino acid was awarded one of the following grades:● satisfactory — the value was determined correctly (within the permissible deviation),● questionable — the value was determined with a deviation slightly greater than permissible,● unsatisfactory — the value was determined incorrectly,● not assessed — the analysis was not carried out.

In April we tested piglet feed. All the amino acids were determined correctly.

In September we analysed casein. Again, everything was correct.

And in October we were sent peas. On the whole, all was well.

In 2021 we shall continue the practice of interlaboratory comparisons and will share the results.

Through proficiency testing, we monitor the quality of our analyses so as to provide you with accurate results.
